What Storepoint needsYou don't have to do any of it
- Every location needs a name and an address.
- A Quick Import re-upload matches rows on name and address, so keep both the same to update a location.
- Opening hours go in one column per day, saved as UTF-8.
You don't have to do any of this. Drop your file and we do all three.

Storepoint's template has 21 columns, from name to twitter, with one column per weekday for opening hours. Drop in your own spreadsheet above and we map it to that file.
The exact headers
The template has no latitude or longitude columns. You can add latitude and longitude yourself and map them, and they override geocoding. The template you download from your dashboard may also have columns for your custom fields.

What Storepoint needs
- Only name and address are required.
- A single full address in address works best. You can also map street, city, state, postcode and country separately and Storepoint combines them. Include the country for lists that cross borders.
- Keep postcodes as text so leading zeros survive.
- tags is one cell, comma-separated, like Coffee, WiFi, Parking, Drive-Thru.
- Hours go in one column per day, like 9:00am - 5:00pm or Closed. Split shifts are comma-separated: 9:00am - 12:00pm, 1:00pm - 5:00pm.
- Storepoint reads .csv, .xlsx and .xls. From an Excel file it reads the first worksheet.
Quick Import or managed import
| Quick Import | Managed import | |
|---|---|---|
| Re-uploading updates rows | Yes, matched on name and address | Yes, within that import's locations |
| Re-uploading adds new rows | Yes | Yes |
| Rows missing from the file | Left alone | Removed |
| Editing in the dashboard | Ordinary, editable locations | Read-only |
| Remembers your column mapping | Not documented | Yes, the import is named |
How updates and duplicates work
In a Quick Import, a row whose name and address match an existing location updates it. Change either and Storepoint adds a new location and keeps the old one. How strictly case and spaces are compared is not documented.
Rows with the same name and address in one file become one pin, with their tags combined.
Keep names and addresses exactly as they are in Storepoint when you only want to update other details.
What fails and why
- A renamed store appears twice: Quick Import matched nothing, so it added a location.
- Locations vanish after a managed re-import: they were missing from the new file.
- Postcodes lose their leading zeros: they were stored as numbers.
- The import stops short: your plan's location limit was reached.
Questions
How many locations can I import into Storepoint?
It depends on your plan. Storepoint's FAQ lists Starter at 200 locations, Pro at 2,000 and Business unlimited. No per-file row limit is documented.
Do I need latitude and longitude?
No. Storepoint geocodes the address, and even a broad one like Lisbon, Portugal works. If you map latitude and longitude, they override geocoding, and the address still shows to customers.
